The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced six new confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Nigeria on Friday morning. The disease control centre said this takes the total number of confirmed cases to 190 with two deaths recorded. “Six new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Osun State, Nigeria.” NCDC said. “As at 11:00 am 3rd April there are 190 confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in Nigeria. “Twenty have been discharged with two deaths.”

The Edo State Government has suspended all forms of revenue collection from transporters for April to cushion the economic effect of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on residents. In a statement, Secretary to the State Government, Osarodion Ogie, said the move will enable transporters comply with government’s social distancing guideline, aimed at preventing the spread of COVID-19. The seating guidelines for transporters are that cars must carry one passenger in front and two at the back, while buses carry one passenger in front and two on each row. President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of medical directors for Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Calabar, Cross River state, and Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo, Taraba state. After eight days of isolation and treatment, the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, Prof. Jesse Otegbayo, has tested negative for COVID-19.
