The Federal High Court sitting in Ilorin on Thursday sentenced three persons charged for offences bordering on cybercrime. The Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) secured the conviction. The convicts are Umar Olanrewaju also known as “Sugar Baby,” Hassan Olaitan, auto repairer, and one Tope Ayodele. The presiding Judge, Justice Muhammed Sani, agreed with the submission of the prosecuting counsels that the commission had established a prima facie case against the defendants. President Muhammadu Buhari has received the report on new revenue allocation formula from the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) in the State House, Abuja, on Thursday. President Muhammadu Buhari has written to the House of Representatives seeking an increase in the 2022 budget deficit to be financed through borrowing from the domestic market. The Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday delivered a judgement in favour of Cross River governor, Prof. Ben Ayade, and his deputy, Prof. Ivara Esu, in respect of their defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Justice Taiwo Taiwo cited the judgment of the Court of Appeal in Enugu that defection is not a ground for removal from office.
