Parents have praised the fourth edition of Madame Olieh Connect describing it has one of the most impacting children’s programme in Nigeria.

The two-day children outreach programme which held from 15 to 16 April was far reaching as the participants were taught music, art, home making and vocational training as well.

Speaking on the two-day event and the instant impact it left on her children, Mrs Keshinro Adebo said the outreach presented our kids with insight into basic things that were not taught at schools, like home making and vocational training.

“Madame Olieh has really put so much effort in making a two-day programme have lasting impression. The sense of responsibilities from the kids is coming out. We look forward to another edition,” she said.

Mrs Kemisola Aina also echoed her sentiments. “Madame Olieh Connect Easter Edition was a done deal. We bless God for the great success. Kids are understanding the essence of teamwork early,” she explained.

Mr Essien also had high praise for the conduct of the outreach. “Thank you Madame Olieh, my kids really had fun while learning. My prayer is that the next edition will be bigger, better and with sponsors.”

Speaking on the outreach, Madame Olieh said, “We specifically identified art, vocational training and foreign languages because many people leave it late before realizing they left their talent or gift behind.

“What we do at Madame Olieh is to communicate to parents the inherent gifts and talents that they have not been too patient to unearth.

She encouraged parents to be more patient with their children and also to always listen to them. “The younger generation understand and can interpret emotions than most parents think, it’s important we allow them express themselves by listening to them.

“Values are eroding because parents are too busy but when is the essence of all your work when your child cannot harness his or her gifts. We must remember that the Bible says the gift of a man will make ways for him,” she said.

“Parents should stop the nagging method instead help them to enjoying learning and reading by trying to join them when they read and learn. This makes the children love to learn.
