The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday released a revised timetable for the screening exercise of aspirants for the governorship, senate, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly but not the presidential.

According to a source who spoke to Chronicle NG at the APC secretariat in Abuja, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC is waiting for directive from President Muhammadu Buhari.

Chronicle NG gathered that the APC wants to prune the number of presidential aspirants and have been hinted of a planned meeting between President Buhari and the presidential aspirants.

The APC have twice suspended the screening of presidential aspirants and will only screen more than one aspirant if the move for consensus fails.

“Mr President will push for a consensus candidate at the meeting with the presidential aspirants. It is only if some aspirants insists that they will not step down that the screening exercise of more than one aspirant will be conducted.
