Prince Olimuyiwa Adejobi, the Police Force Public Relations Officer, has condemned in totality the now viral video of police escorts accompanying a yet-to-be identified wealthy man and his cow.

In the viral video, which has elicited backlash from netizens, six heavily armed officers of the Nigerian Police Force were seen escorting a man while he moved his cow within the premises of his luxurious mansion.

Reacting to the video, Nkechi First stated that the “Police NG has become a joke”. For Rahamon Kabiawu, he questioned “how many officers are attached to this man? When the rest of the population are battling violent robbery, kidnapping, rape, armed insurgency, and corruption etc… ”

Reacting to the video, Uchman sarcastically stated that “on a second thought, I don’t blame these policemen. Things are outrageously expensive in Nigeria. You need a battalion of armed men to escort a cow”.

Furthermore, Alex Anthony noted that “it speaks volumes of the level of self-worth of the personnel in the force. They do not even value themselves. Bunch of ‘anyhow-ness and anywhere belleface’. Integrity is not a word not does it have meaning to them”.

Reacting to the viral video of the officers amidst backlash from Nigerians, Adejobi, the force spokesperson said “This is condemned. We will fish out these men. It’s even disgusting. We have set up a committee to look into the process of withdrawing our PMF/tactical men from such services and use them for the announced Quick Intervention Squad.

“Deployment of policemen to individuals will surely be reviewed and regularised. When the committee submits its report, the Ag. IGP will act as fast as possible to implement the policy. We need more men to police than guard individual Nigerians”.

He further added that the police force “can assure Nigerians of a better policing system in no distant time”.
