The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun has removed Olumuyiwa Adejobi from his position as the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) after three years in office.

Adejobi has also been promoted from Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) to Deputy Commissioner of Police.

Adejobi previously served as the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command before his appointment in an acting capacity on February 16, 2022, taking over from Deputy Commissioner of Police, Frank Mba.

Former Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, officially confirmed his appointment in April 2022 as the 25th indigenous Force Public Relations Officer.

In the latest development, Adejobi has been deployed to Delta State as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations.

Police authorities clarified that his transition is neither punitive nor controversial but part of the routine progression and deployment of senior officers within the Force.

As DCP Operations in Delta State, Adejobi will be responsible for coordinating security operations, tackling violent crimes, and strengthening police-community relations across the state, which plays a critical role in Nigeria’s internal security architecture.

Adejobi’s previous roles include serving as operations officer and Officer incharge of Anti Bank Robbery and Anti Pipeline Vandalisation at Sagamu Division from 2006 to 2008, Administration Officer at the Department of Operations, Police Headquarters, Ogun State in 2008, Operations Officer at the Department of Operations, Lagos State Command Ikeja in 2017, Directing Staff at Police College Ikeja, and as Personal Assistant to The Deputy Inspector-General of Police at the Department of Operations, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
