The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has urged air travellers to check which airport agency and stakeholders are responsible for any issues before reporting such problems.
Mrs Obiageli Orah, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, stated in an advice graphic shared on the Authority’s social media accounts on Sunday that knowing the agencies will help to speed up solutions and improve service.
It also reminded the public that, while the authority constructs and maintains airport infrastructure, as well as handles safety and security, airports are operated by a consortium of government and private sector partners.
The advice identifies the following essential agencies within the Ministry of Aviation that passengers might consider contacting when voicing concerns: airline operators.
Business owners—concessionaires, ground handlers & service providers and security agencies.
According to the FAAN, passengers who report delays, lost baggage, commercial conflicts, or security concerns to the appropriate agency are more likely to receive quick responses than those who report in general.
The organisation also advised travelers to file complaints and enquiries through proper government and airline channels to avoid delays and misinformation.
“Next time an issue comes up, always check which agency or stakeholder is responsible—it helps you get faster solutions and better service!” FAAN said.
