Bundesliga side Bayer 04 Leverkusen have officially announced the appointment of Erik ten Hag as their new head coach.
Ten Hag has signed a contract that will keep him at the club until June 2027.
“Let’s get started. Erik ten Hag signs with Bayer 04 as our new head coach until 2027,” the club posted in an official statement on Monday via X.
The 55-year-old coach replaces Xabi Alonso, who previously led Leverkusen to domestic success.
Ten Hag was widely considered the main candidate for the role following Alonso’s move to Real Madrid.
The club confirmed that the arrangement is for two years, ending at the end of the 2026/27 season.
Following his unveiling, ten Hag stated his admiration for the club and enthusiasm for the opportunity.
