The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has joined global policing leaders at the 2025 World Police Summit in Dubai to drive international collaboration against modern-day crime.
Held from 13 to 16 May, the summit’s theme — “Beyond the Badge: Envision the Next Era of Policing” — brought together top law enforcement minds to tackle transnational threats through innovation and unity.
Representing Nigeria, IGP Egbetokun used the opportunity to strengthen cross-border intelligence ties, establish training exchange deals, and advocate joint action against cybercrime and porous border security.
In addition to strategic discussions, the summit featured cutting-edge technology showcases, workshops on crime forecasting and digital identity, and sessions on community-based policing. The IGP highlighted these as crucial to Nigeria’s evolving security framework.
“The future of policing lies in collaboration, intelligence-sharing, and adapting to technology-driven threats,” said the IGP, reaffirming Nigeria’s dedication to aligning with global best practices.
Nigeria’s participation signals its resolve to elevate professional standards and foster safer communities through innovation and international synergy.
