The Kaduna State Police Command claims it has killed four alleged kidnappers and detained 13 others during sting operations across the state.
The acting Public Relations Officer of the command, ASP Manir Hassan, revealed this while parading the suspects and informing the media that the alleged kidnappers were killed in gunfights in various Kaduna State locations, and that the arrests were made as a result of intelligence reports about the suspects’ criminal activity.
A private security guard named Auwal Saidu, who allegedly planned the kidnapping of his employer from his home and then demanded N10 million in ransom, is one of the suspects, according to the police spokesman. He and his gang members are accused of releasing the victim after collecting the cash.
Among the things seized from the suspects were two AK-47 weapons, three revolvers built in the area, two motorcycles, 15 live cartridges, and bags of marijuana.
Following the conclusion of its investigation, the police department said that all of the suspects it had detained would face charges in court.
