Fulham have signed Everton midfielder Alex Iwobi in a deal for up to £22 million.
The Nigerian midfielder, 27, joined Everton from Arsenal in the summer of 2019 and played 123 league games for the Toffees, scoring six goals.
He has signed a five-year contract with Fulham, rejoining his former Everton manager, Marco Silva.
“I’m buzzing,” Iwobi remarked, “and I just can’t wait to get started.”
Despite Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha’s earlier collapsed transfer to Bayern Munich, the deal went through.
He represented England up to the under-18 level. He made his senior international debut for Nigeria in October 2015 and was part of their squads at the FIFA World Cup in 2018 and the Africa Cup of Nations in 2019 and 2021, finishing third at the 2019 tournament.
Iwobi has appeared in two of Everton’s three Premier League games this season, but the Toffees have yet to earn a point.
He was ruled out of Saturday’s home loss to the Wolves due to an injury.
Meanwhile, Fulham signed 26-year-old AC Milan and Senegal left-back Fode Ballo-Toure on loan.
