The United Nations has indicted Russia of killing 136 children in 2022 during its attack against Ukraine, according to an internal report obtained by the Deutsche Presse-Agentur in New York on Thursday.

António Guterres, the UN Secretary-General António Guterres stated that the number of children killed by the Russians is shocking.

According to the report, Ukrainian military killed 80 youngsters.

The Russian army was included in a UN list of organisations that commit serious offences against minors in armed conflicts.

According to the UN, 477 children were killed in Ukraine last year, with 136 killed by Russian forces and allies and 80 killed by Ukrainian troops.

Neither of the fighting groups can be blamed with confidence for the remaining victims.

The report further stated that air attacks killed the majority of the children.
Russian military carry out air attacks on Ukrainian cities and villages.

The UN emphasized that there were many unreported occurrences due to the tight procedures for validating such situations.

“I am particularly shocked by the high number of attacks on schools, hospitals, and protected personnel, and by the high number of children killed and maimed, attributed to Russian forces and affiliated armed groups,” Guterres said.

He was also concerned about the operations of Ukrainian forces.
Last year, the UN reported 92 examples of children being used as human shields in Ukraine.

All but one of these incidents, according to the report, were committed by Russians.

According to the report, a total of 751 attacks on schools and hospitals were carried out, with 480 carried out by the Russian army and its allies, 212 carried out by Ukrainian armed forces, and the other incidents could not be ascribed.
