    EXCLUSIVE: Documents reveal Tunji-Ojo resigned from New Planet Project in 2019

    Minister of Interior, Olunbunmi Tunji-Ojo resigned from his position as managing director of New Planet Project Limited, documents exclusively seen by Chronicle NG have revealed.

    The documents submitted to the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) revealed that Tunji-Ojo, alongside his wife, Abimbola Tunji-Ojo resigned as directors of the company in February 2019.

    Other directors who ceased to hold office along the Tunji-Ojos are Okpanachi George Echiye, Idris Shuaibu Abubakar and Hassan Suleiman.

    New directors were also appointed in the documents. They are Otegbeye Olabanji Oladapo and Anne Adeiza Bello.

    In a letter to the CAC after an extra-ordinary meeting, New Planet Projects Limited (RC No. 804833) wrote, “At the extraordinary general meeting of New Planet Projects Limited (“the company”) held on the 1st day of February 2019 at the registered office address, It was resolved that:

    1. The following persons are hereby removed as Directors of the Company:
    (a) Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo
    (b) Tunji-Ojo Abimbola
    (c) Okpanachi George Echiye
    (d) Idris Shuaibu Abubakar
    (e) Hassan Suleiman

    2. The following persons are hereby appointed as additional directors of the company:
    (a) Otegbeye Olabanji Oladapo
    (b) Anne Adeiza Bello

    “That this resolution with a new form CAC 7 is filed with the Corporate Affairs Commission.

    Chronicle NG reports that the Interior Minister on Monday stated that he had resigned from the company in 2019 and did not have any involvement with the day-to-day running of the company.

    “I have to say this; I saw it, and I was shocked because the company in question was a company where I was the director,” Tunji-Ojo told Channels TV.

    “About five years ago, I resigned my directorship. Yes, I founded the company 10 years ago. In 2019, when I got to the House of Representatives I won the election precisely, and I resigned. I resigned on February 4, 2019, with a Certified True Copy of Corporate Affairs Commission as far back as 2019 to prove this.”
