Buckingham Palace has confirmed that King Charles has been admitted to the hospital for treatment of an enlarged prostate.

The procedure will be performed at the London Clinic private hospital, where Catherine, Princess of Wales, underwent surgery last week.

It is reported that the King paid a visit to his daughter-in-law in the hospital on Friday morning, prior to his own scheduled treatment.

It is not yet clear for how long King Charles will be hospitalized.

Queen Camilla was seen with the king as he arrived at the hospital in Marylebone, central London.

King Charles had made his health problem public to encourage other men to get their prostates tested.

Buckingham Palace issued a statement saying King Charles had made his health problem public to encourage other men to get their prostates tested.

Following the publication, the NHS website experienced an increase in searches for enlarged prostates, which was welcomed by doctors and charities.

Buckingham Palace issued a statement saying the King was “delighted to learn that his diagnosis is having a positive impact on public health awareness.”

He also thanked those who had “sent their good wishes.”.

The palace confirmed last week that King Charles, 75, will have a “corrective procedure” to treat his enlarged prostate. On Thursday, he traveled from Sandringham to London for the operation.

According to the NHS, benign prostate problems, which are not malignant, are frequent in older men.

Approximately one in every three men over the age of 50 will experience symptoms of an enlarged prostate, a gland located directly below the bladder.

The medical treatment is not serious enough to warrant constitutional modifications to the King’s function as head of state. There will be no need for “counselors of state” to fill in when a king is gravely ill.

The King is receiving treatment at the same hospital where his daughter-in-law, Catherine, underwent “abdominal surgery” last week.
