The Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu, has promised to compensate Nigerian singer Adewale Mayowa, popularly known as Mayorkun, over the theft of his diamond jewelry.
Mayorkun disclosed this in a post on his verified X account after he met with the state governor in Calabar, the state capital.
He wrote, “I just met with the Governor of Cross River State, H.E. Prince Bassey Otu.
“He assured me that Calabar people remain very hospitable, and he has also stressed that I’ll be compensated for my valuables lost. Thank you, sir.
“I’m still searching for my pendant!
“It’s so special to me for many reasons. I have a N5 million reward for anyone who finds it and returns it. Please help spread the word!
The ‘Mayor of Lagos’ crooner had earlier vowed not to perform in Calabar again following the theft of an undisclosed item.
The singer, who performed in the state on Monday, expressed dissatisfaction in his social media posts, hinting that the overall experience was far from enjoyable.
However, his colleague, Iyanya, has revealed that one of the neckchains which was reportedly stolen has been returned.
