Nine killed in Benue cult group clash

No fewer than three people have been killed and three others abducted by cultists in the Egbe community in the Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The killers, believed to be members of an Icelandic cult loyal to one ‘General Danger,’ murdered the stated number of victims in the early hours of Monday.

Two men and a lady from the Egbeh community in Ubie Kingdom, Ahoada West LGA, were also kidnapped by the rogue cultists.

The bodies of the three people were located near the Egbeh and Ebiriba roads, according to a community source, and the cultists butchered and abandoned their remains.

According to the source, two of those deceased had issues with the mother of the infamous cultist in the region, Danger.

The source alleged that the cult leader had sent his men to invade the community and kill the guys who challenged him.

It was learned, however, that the lady abducted alongside the two males is the girlfriend of one of the individuals who had issues with Danger’s mother.

It was also learned that the mother of the infamous cultists had departed the community following the killings.

Speaking on the tragic event, Grace Iringe Koko, the Rivers State Police spokesperson, confirmed the incident and noted that investigations are ongoing to uncover the circumstances that led to the killings and to apprehend the culprits.
