Former US President Donald Trump and his wife, Melania, paid their respects to former US First Lady Rosalynn Carter on Monday.
Rosalynn Carter died on Sunday, November 19, at the age of 96, at her home in Plains, Georgia, following a brief illness.
The deceased was hailed as a loyal First Lady, a humanitarian, an advocate for mental health, and a beloved wife to her husband for 77 years by Trump in a statement released on his verified Facebook page on Monday.
Trump’s statement read, “Over a life spanning nearly a century, Rosalynn Carter earned the admiration and gratitude of our entire nation.
“From her days as a U.S. Navy spouse to the Georgia Governor’s mansion to her tenure as First Lady of the United States, her later work at the Carter Center, and volunteering with Habitat for Humanity
“She leaves behind a legacy of extraordinary accomplishment and national service.”
The Trumps extended their prayers to former President, the family of deceased, and the entire community of Plains, Georgia, that she loves so much”.
She’s survived by Her children, Jack, Chip, Jeff, and Amy. There are 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren in all.
