Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has been sworn in as the senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District on Thursday.
The Senate President, Sen. Godswill Akpabio, presided over the oath of office administered to the new senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Natasha during plenary on Thursday.
Mr. Chinedu Akubueze, Clerk of the Senate, delivered the oath to Natasha at approximately 11:41 a.m.
She then exchanged handshakes with the Senate President, who handed her a copy of the Senate Standing Rules.
After exchanging pleasantries with her colleagues, she was taken to her seat by the sergeant at arms.
On Monday, the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division, ruled that Natasha of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was the duly elected candidate for the Kogi Central Senatorial Election held on February 25 this year.
Senator Abubakar Ohere’s appeal was denied by the appellate court for lack of merit.
Earlier in September, the Kogi State Election Petition Tribunal in Lokoja overturned Ohere’s victory at the polls.
The court also ruled that Akpoti-Uduaghan was the true winner of the February senatorial election.
However, Ohere went to the appeals court to seek remedy, but the court upheld Akpoti-Uduaghan as the poll’s winner.
