Hollywood actor Eric Marlon Bishop, known professionally as Jamie Foxx, has denied the sexual assault allegations filed against him.
In a recent complaint, a woman identified only as Jane Doe alleged that Foxx touched her breasts and genitals without her consent at a New York City restaurant.
She said that the actor was drunk at the moment. Doe reportedly accused Foxx of taking her to a secluded spot and assaulted her.
On Thursday, a spokesperson for the actor stated that the allegations in the lawsuit are “false and have no merit.”
The spokesperson further disclosed that a similar lawsuit was filed in 2020 and was dismissed soon after.
“The alleged incident never happened. In 2020, this individual filed a nearly identical lawsuit in Brooklyn.
“That case was dismissed shortly thereafter. The claims are no more viable today than they were then,” the spokesperson said.
Foxx’s career spans several decades and includes a wide range of cinema and television performances.
He rose to prominence after appearing in the 1999 film “Any Given Sunday.”
He is a musician as well as an actor.
The actor was hospitalized in April owing to a medical problem, but he recovered completely over three months later.
