Israel battles Hamas in South Gaza city

The Palestinian Ministry of Health has announced that Israeli forces conducted midnight raids in the occupied West Bank, detaining hundreds and killing two individuals in the Jalazone refugee camp near Ramallah.

Residents of Jalazone told reporters on Monday that Israeli forces attacked the camp and arrested many people, clashing with gunmen and stone-throwing youths.

According to residents, Israeli forces have retreated to the camp’s boundaries.

The Israeli army has not commented on the incidents.

According to the Palestinian news agency Wafa, at least 120 terrorists claiming to be Palestinians were arrested across the West Bank overnight, including 59 in the city of Hebron, among whom were 40 Gaza Strip labourers.

The European Union’s foreign policy leader, Josep Borrell, urged quicker relief deliveries to Gaza on Monday, saying the EU’s 27 foreign ministers will debate a “humanitarian pause” in the conflict.

“I think a humanitarian pause is needed to allow the humanitarian support to come in and be distributed, seeing that half of the population of Gaza has been moving from their houses,” Borrell said.
