Tribunal affirms Oborevwori election as Delta governor, dismisses Omo-Agege's petition

The Delta State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has affirmed the election of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in the March 18 election.

The petition was submitted by former Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and was dismissed by a three-member tribunal led by Justice C.H. Ahuchaogu.

The tribunal held that the petition contained unsubstantiated allegations, noting that it was devoid of merit and speculative.

Omo-Agege, who finished second in the March 18 election, contested the Independent National Electoral Commission‘s (INEC) designation of Oborevwori as the election’s winner.
