Power supply has been restored hours after a statewide blackout on Thursday caused by the failure of the national system.
Eko Energy Distribution Company announced on its Twitter handle, now (X), that the country’s energy supply has been restored.
The statement on X reads, “Dear Valued Customer. Please be informed that power supply has been restored to the grid. Thank you for your patience.”
Chronicle NG had reported that the country’s energy supply decreased by 93.5 percent to 273 megawatts (MW, in the early hours of today, from 4,182 MW on Monday of this week, following a full system collapse caused by equipment failure or grid disruption in the sector.
It also stated that the Electricity Distribution Companies, or DisCos, apologised to their consumers and pledged to restore power whenever the situation improved.
