PSG draw Lorient without star players in Ligue 1 title defence

Paris St-Germain (PSG) were held by Lorient as they opened their Ligue 1 championship defence without Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.
The superstar duo’s future is unknown since both have been linked with transfers and were left out of the team for the season opener.
Paris Saint-Germain lacked prize attackers while dominating possession but failing to create big opportunities.
Manuel Ugarte, the hosts’ defensive midfielder, came closest to scoring in stoppage time, but his effort sailed wide.
It was not the best start for new Paris Saint-Germain boss Luis Enrique, who took over for Christophe Galtier in the summer.
France striker Ousmane Dembele, who joined Paris St-Germain from Barcelona for £43.5 million earlier on Saturday, was also in the stands.
Mbappe, Dembele’s international teammate, is not working with PSG’s first-team squad after notifying the club that he will not extend his contract beyond next summer.
PSG prefers to sell Mbappe rather than let him leave for free when his contract expires, but the 24-year-old is generally expected to want a financially lucrative free move to Real Madrid next summer.
Meanwhile, Neymar has been linked with a return to Barcelona.
