No fewer than two people have reportedly been confirmed dead following the collapse of a two-story building in Abuja.

The building that collapsed in the early hours of Thursday in the Garki village area of Garki is currently trapping some residents under its rubble.

According to a video clip posted on social media by Ikharo Attah, an aide to former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mohammed Bello, 37 people have so far been rescued and evacuated to the hospital while the rescue operation continues.

At the time of filing this report, the authorities had yet to comment on the incident.
