The Nigeria Police Academy has officially begun the application process for 10th regular cadet degree courses for interested and qualified students.

The IGP, Kayode Egbetokun, also warns candidates to be aware of online imposters, fraudsters, and other criminal elements who may try to use the application process to defraud innocent applicants, Chronicle NG reports.

CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Force PRO, made the announcement in a statement.

The Nigeria Police Force invites competent individuals of Nigerian origin to apply online for admission to the 10th Regular Course Cadet Degree Programme. The online registration procedure will last six (6) weeks (from July 24th to September 3rd, 2023), allowing both male and female Nigerians of good reputation to serve their country.

    Applicants must:

    • Be of Nigerian origin by birth and have a National Identity Number (NIN).
    • Have a JAMB result (2023 only) with not less than 180 marks.
    • Have selected the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, as their first choice on the JAMB form.
    • PSC dismisses three police officers over gross misconduct, promotes over 14,000 inspectors

    • Have a minimum of six credits in WAEC/NECO or its equivalent in no more than two sittings, with credit passes in English and Mathematics.
    • Be between the ages of 17 and 21 on October 31, 2023.
    • Be medically, physically, and psychologically healthy, with a height of no less than 1.67m for men and 1.64m for women.
    • Having an enlarged chest measurement of at least 86cm (34 inches) (males only).
    • Be single or pregnant at the time of admission.
    • Have a current email address and phone number.
    • SSCE (WAEC/NECO) results or certificates received before 2019 will not be accepted.

The application technique is virtual. All interested applicants who meet the above criteria should go to the Academy’s website, and generate a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) code, which will be used to pay a non-refundable fee of Three Thousand, Five Hundred Naira (N3,500) only through any commercial bank branch in Nigeria. After making a successful payment, a form will be shown, which applicants must fill out and submit scanned copies of their SSCE results, birth certificate, and state of origin certificate.

Following that, candidates must print completed online forms and guarantor papers, which must be filled out and delivered to the Nigeria Police Academy for the physical screening. An automated physical screening exercise will be performed at the Academy on a date to be announced later. Successful candidates will take a computer-based test (CBT), followed by an Automated Medical Screening Exercise and an Automated Interview/Selection Exercise to determine who will go on to a 5-year academic and police training programme culminating in a bachelor’s degree and commissioning into the Nigeria Police Force as Assistant Superintendent of Police II.

IGP Kayode Egbetokun, the Acting Inspector-General of Police, pledges that the process will be carried out in the finest traditions of openness and accountability. He warns candidates to be aware of online imposters, fraudsters, and other criminal elements who may try to exploit the application process to defraud honest individuals. The IGP, on the other hand, advises that anyone discovered in violation of this rule would be detained and punished.
