Naija Super 8: Remo and Sporting set to lock horns in final

Remo Stars and Sporting Lagos are set to lock horns in another exciting southwest derby when they meet in the final of the Naija Super 8 tournament on Sunday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
Both teams won their respective semi-finals 2-1, setting up a rematch in one week.
Sporting defeated Akwa United in the semi-finals after falling behind in the first half to a Cyril Olisema penalty in the 40th minute, but the new NPFL team replied in the second half through marksmen Saturday Okon and Jonathan Alikwu.
Remo put their group stage problems behind them and ruined Lobi Stars’ immaculate tournament record.
Dela Akorli’s first-half goal and skipper Junior Nduka’s second-half header put Daniel Ogunmodede’s team ahead.
Lobi’s Joseph Atule got a consolation goal from the penalty spot in the 61st minute, but his third goal of the tournament was not enough to salvage his side’s fate.
Remo and Sporting will square off again on Sunday for the N25 million top prize and the winner’s trophy.
