A US citizen, a musician, and a former soldier was arrested in Russia on Saturday on suspicion of arranging a cocaine trafficking enterprise, according to a Moscow court.

“On June 10, 2023, Moscow’s Khamovniki District Court took a measure of restraint against a US citizen,” according to a statement issued by Moscow’s tribunal of general jurisdiction on the Telegram messaging app.

“The former paratrooper and musician accused of running a drug dealing business involving minors will be detained until August 6, 2023.”

The reporters were unable to independently verify the reports.

Russia’s Interfax news agency reported that if found guilty, the man could face up to 12 years in prison.

The US State Department did not immediately reply to a request for comment.
