I will work with Tinubu – Biden

President Joe Biden of the United States has assured Nigeria that he will collaborate with the newly sworn-in president, Bola Tinubu in order “to strengthen ties between the United States and Nigeria.”

Biden communicated this in a statement while congratulating Tinubu on Monday following his inauguration as Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, promising to work with Tinubu to enhance the economic growth and advance the security of Nigeria.

“On behalf of the people of the United States, I send warm wishes to the government and people of Nigeria as they inaugurate a new President. I look forward to continuing this work with President Tinubu to support economic growth, advance security, and promote respect for human rights,” he said.

Biden believes the progress of Nigeria is a success for the entire world, stated that “As Africa’s largest democracy and economy, Nigeria’s success is the world’s success. Elected leaders owe it to their people to show that democracy can deliver for their needs.

The US President who sent a team of delegates to represent the US at the inauguration today, promised to continue being a friend and partner to Nigeria and the newly sworn-in president.

“And the United States will continue to work closely with Nigeria, as a friend and partner, to deliver a more peaceful and prosperous future for our world,” Biden said.

Speaking after his Tinubu said, “This is the proudest day of my life. But this day does not belong to me. It belongs to you, the people of Nigeria.”
