Fire Service received a distress call of a fire outbreak at Kpakpando FM, Mbaukwu

In Lagos, a fire devastated shanties in the popular Alaba International Market in the state’s Ojo district, destroying properties worth millions of naira.

Meanwhile, reports have surfaced that crowds have obstructed firefighting personnel from entering the location to extinguish the flames for unknown reasons.

Magret Adeseye, Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (Lagos Rescue), verified the news.

“Reports reaching Lagos Rescue at about 12 noon on Friday indicate shops at the popular Alaba International Market, Ojo, Lagos are on flame,” Adeseye said.

“However, inferno crews from Ojo, Sari-Iganmu, and Ajegunle are being prevented from performing their statutory duty by angry mobs and are currently on standby.”
