#UELfinal: Nine arrested in Budapest
ENine persons were arrested on Wednesday when violence broke out among football supporters in Budapest before Sevilla met AS Roma in the Europa League final.
Police claimed many people got into a brawl before the game began, and three people were hurt, with one Spanish and one Swedish citizen sent to the hospital.
A criminal investigation into the suspected act of group aggravated assault has been launched, and seven Polish people have been arrested.
In a separate incident in downtown Budapest, police said two fans, one Spanish and one Italian, were assaulted. Two Polish nationals have been arrested.
Sevilla are bidding for a record-extending seventh Europa League title against a Roma team coached by Jose Mourinho, who has led teams to five major European trophies, including last year’s Conference League with the Italian capital club.
