Nigerians arrive Abuja from war torn Sudan on Tuesday night

One hundred and twenty-nine Nigerians fleeing war-torn Sudan landed at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja Wednesday.

The information was revealed in a statement made on the Diaspora Commission’s Twitter account. The 129 refugees constitute the eighth group, increasing the total number of Nigerians evacuated to 1,600.

According to the announcement, “the eighth batch of evacuees: 129 nationals that departed Port Sudan International Airport landed at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport around 9:25 a.m. (local time) on May 8 via Tarco Air.”

“According to The Guardian, there have been 1,600 evacuees so far.” “The good news is that so far, no Nigerian lives have been lost.”
