FCDA, Gridlock: FCTA bans morning vehicular inspections

The Nnamdi Motorway carriageway and the Area 1 roundabout would be closed in the locality, as indicated by the management of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), to allow for the ongoing building of the interchange.

The FCDA said on Friday that on Saturday, April 23, and Sunday, April 24, 2023, the main lanes and service lanes on the Nnamdi Azikiwe Motorway at the Area 1 roundabout, coming from the Airport, and vice versa, would be closed from 7 am to 6 pm.

The Agency advised residents and drivers to use the other route that the contractor had offered since the shutdown would result in the closure of the roadways to all incoming traffic.

The communication also indicated that representatives from the Federal Road Safety Corps, the Police, and the FCT Vehicle Inspection Office had been notified of the arrangement and would be on the scene to help with traffic management at the roundabout and related ramps.

The Agency advised residents and drivers to abide by the announcements and instructions of the agents responsible for upholding law and order on the roadways while regretted the problems the construction work may cause motorists.
