Army battle terrorists in Kaduna, kill 11
The Nigerian Army’s troops and special forces killed 11 terrorists in intense combat during battling raids in Kaduna State’s Birnin Gwari Local Government Area.
The troops advanced to several identified locations and cleared terrorists camps in Bagoma, Rema, Bugai, Dagara, Sabon Layi, Gagumi, Kakangi, Katakaki, and Randagi, according to Samuel Aruwan, Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Kaduna State.
During these activities, the troops came into touch with terrorists at Kakangi and Katakaki. Following an intense gunfight, the outlaws were subjugated by the soldiers’ bold weaponry. Eleven attackers were verified to have been killed, while others escaped.
Following the fight, the soldiers took advantage of the position, recovering two AK-47 weapons, two AK-47 mags, and 57 rounds of ammo. During the confrontation, six motorbikes belonging to the thieves were wrecked.
When he received the report, Governor Nasir El-Rufai voiced his pleasure with the security forces’ strong performance and commended the leadership of Major General TA Lagbaja, GOC One Division and Force Commander of Operation Whirl Punch.
The Governor praised the soldiers for their constant and enthusiastic efforts, urging them to build on the energy of this significant achievement.
