Chrisland: Govt to sue school, others for manslaughter, negligence

The Lagos State government on Thursday filed charges against Chrisland School principal, vice principal, and two staff members in connection with the passing of Whitney Adeniran, a 12-year-old student at the school.

Mrs. Belinda Amao, Nwatu Ugochi Victoria, Ademoye Adewale, Kuku Fatai, and Chrisland School Limited are among the school employees who were charged before Justice Oyindamola Ogala of the Lagos State High Court in Ikeja.

The state has filed two counts of accusations against the defendants that centred on reckless and negligent behaviour and involuntary manslaughter.

As the court and counsel attempted to agree on a date for the start of the trial, the school’s principal, Mrs. Belinda Amao, sobbed inside the dock.
