1,265,227 ad hoc workers to participate in general election – INEC

INEC blacklists 100 ad hoc staff over malpractice in A/Ibom

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said about 1,265,227 ad hoc workers will participate in the forthcoming general election.

The National Commissioner and Chairman of Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, said all the ad hoc workers were being trained to understand the requirements for the conduct of the polls.

Okoye spoke at a training on strategic communications for this year’s elections for the commission’s Heads of Information and Public Affairs in the various states of the federation.

He also said the commission was engaging critical and relevant stakeholders to assist in the conduct of a free and fair election.
