Newcastle agree €70m to sign Alexander Isak

Alexander Isak is expected to complete a record transfer to Newcastle

Newcastle United have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Swedish striker, Alexander Isak from Real Sociedad.

The club record deal is expected to be worth around £60million (€71.2m). Newcastle has agreed personal terms with the striker regarding a move to St James’ Park.

The move will see the 22-year-old surpass Bruno Guimaraes as the club’s record signing.

Isak who have been linked with Premier League leaders Arsenal has scored 33 in 105 La Liga appearances since moving to Sociedad from Borussia Dortmund in 2019 and starred for Sweden at Euro 2020 last summer.

He has also scored nine goals in 37 international appearances.

Isak will become Newcastle’s fourth senior signing of the summer after Matt Targett’s loan deal was made permanent, with Nick Pope and Sven Botman joining.

Eddie Howe has been seeking attacking reinforcements and his desire to strengthen at the top of the pitch has intensified with Callum Wilson set for a scan on a hamstring injury.
