Jumia dismisses fake recruitment on WhatsApp

E-commerce company, Jumia, has raised alarm over a fake recruitment that is circulating on social media platform, WhatsApp.

The company noted that the recruitment is entirely false and misleading, urging the public to ignore it.

“Our attention has been drawn to a message being circulated specifically via WhatsApp, of a ‘hiring manager at Jumia’, inviting people to apply for part-time employment,” a statement by e-commerce outlet read.

“We wish to state that this information is entirely false and misleading and should therefore be ignored by the public.

“We denounce our association from this message and any further messages which may be dispersed to the public of a similar nature.

“We remain committed to transparency in the conduct of all our activities, including recruitment, and all communication or updates regarding this is disseminated through our official online platforms and verified social media pages.
