Following Chelsea’s 5-3 loss to Charlotte FC on penalties, Chelsea fans on social media platforms have expressed their views regarding the game.

In a series of posts and tweets obtained by Chronicle NG, fans expressed their frustrations over the inability of Chelsea players to convert most of the chances in the game into goals, urging Coach Thomas Tuchel to get a new main forward as soon as possible.

In what was termed as an “uninspiring game” by fans, Christian Pulisic opened the scoring in the 30th minute of the game.  The goal was however cancelled by a late penalty by Charlotte’s Daniel Rios which resulted to a penalty shootout.

The game left many Blues fans who were expecting an easy ride over Charlotte FC grossly disappointed, prompting Tuchel to work getting a potent main striker who will replace Romelu Lukaku who left the club for Inter-Milan.

In other news, coach Thomas Tuchel has expressed his displeasure over yesterday’s loss. The coach however, was full of praises for new signing Raheem Sterling performance at the match.

Tuchel also said he was surprised at Timo Werner’s reported comments that he is not completely happy at the club.

“I’m surprised. I would be very happy as a young guy having a contract at Chelsea Football Club. I would be one of the happiest people on the planet. Show quality, take your place and defend your place. I would be one of the happiest people on the planet having a contract with Chelsea. If he said this, I do not understand,” Tuchel said in reaction to Werner.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are expected to complete the signing of Jules Kounde from Sevilla after the French defender was left out of the La Liga’s pre-season squad.

The Blues have reportedly reached a £55m agreement with Sevilla and the defender is expected to have his medicals in London in the next 36 hours.
