On Friday, in Ijesha, Surulere, Lagos State, thugs disrupted the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration, CVR, activity at St. Bridget Catholic Church.
The Continuous Voter Registration devices owned by the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, were carted away.
The event took place less than 72 hours before INEC closed the CVR.
As people fled for safety after the catastrophe, the parish priest sealed the church.
According to a witness who gave her name as Dr. Ambassador Princess Okojie Igbemudia, the thugs stormed the church and interfered with the registration process because those who participated will be voting for Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi.
It was discovered that the police had been sent to the neighborhood to maintain law and order.
