I don’t want them to eliminate my successor – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has said he will not disclose who is preferred successor is because he does not want the person to be eliminated.
Buhari in a rare interview on Channels TV said he would like to keep the name of his preferred successor a secret.
Asked if he had a favourite, Buhari answered, “I won’t tell you because if I tell you he may be eliminated before then,” he said.
His deputy, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Tinubu are two of the leading names paraded by party members.
During the interview, President Buhari also spoke on a whole range of national issues including insecurity, electricity and politics.
Reacting to the power situation in Nigeria, he said, “People that own Discos are not electrical engineers or do they have money but just a political favour,” he said of those who acquired the Distribution Companies.
On politics, he acknowledged the emergence of the ruling APC in 2014.
“We defeated PDP in 2015 because of the coming together of APGA, ANPP, ACN, CPC, and other parties”
