Residents of Abuja, Nigeria’s capital looted Next Cash and Carry Supermarket as it was gutted by fire on Sunday.

Chronicle NG had earlier reported that the supermarket was on fire at around midday as bellow of smoke enveloped the supermarket and neighbouring buildings at Kado Kuchi, Off Ahmadu Bellow way, Gwarimpa Express Abuja.

Efforts to put out the raging fire as been abortive but residents who should have helped salvage what is left of the supermarket looted it.

In a video posted by Chronicle NG, residents were seen wheeling shopping trollies with items from the burning supermarket.
