Gunmen kidnap principal, vice, three other teachers in Ondo

Gunmen have abducted a principal, Joshua Adeyemi, and four others along the Auga/Ise-Akoko Road in Akoko North-East Local Government Area of Ondo state.
Adeyemi, the principal of Auga Community Grammar Institution, was kidnapped at gunpoint along with his vice, Ifedayo Yesufu, and three other teachers from the school.
The victims were travelling in a Toyota Corolla when they were grabbed up and carried into the forest by the attackers on Thursday afternoon.
According to reports, one of the victims, Blessing Okeke, a pregnant lady, was released by the abductors due to her condition after trekking for more than an hour in the forest.
Okeke was the one who alerted the victims’ families, who then reported the crime to the police.
Furthermore, DSP Funmilayo Odunlami, the spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, who also confirmed the incident, said a team of police officers has been deployed to the area.
She added that the team is scouring the forest and the surrounding area to find the remaining four victims and arrest the kidnappers.
