Gumi said the FCT Minister plans to make Abuja an extension of Tel Aviv Christians should not be leading Nigeria's security

Kaduna-based Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, has urged the Federal Government to build schools for bandits ravaging the northern region of Nigeria.

According to Gumi, the billions of Naira being spent on ammunition should be used to build schools for bandits.

He argued that majority of the bandits he had spoken to are ready to lay down their arms and embrace education.

The controversial cleric said this at the Uthman Dan Fodio Centre at Kagarko Grazing Reserve Kohoto Village, Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State, on Monday.

Gumi argued that education is the best way to ensure that Fulani herdsmen do not continue to take up arms.

According to Gumi: “Instead of spending billions on hardware, spend it on schools. I have spoken to lots of them, they have agreed to lay down their weapons and embrace education.

“The herdsmen take cattle for grazing in the morning, come back and study in the evening. Before then, we would run primary and secondary schools at intervals.

“We have a hospital also at the centre as well as an economic booster on showing them how to feed their animals.

“If we can replicate this everywhere, Nigeria will be in peace.”
