Osimhen shines as Super Eagles beat Cape Verde 2-1

Nigeria has emerged victorious once again as the Super Eagles came from behind to beat Cape Verde in their second World Cup qualifying match on Tuesday evening in Mindelo.
The Eagles who had already bagged a 2-0 win over Liberia on Friday, were shocked when Dylan Tavares scored in the 20th minute to give the Blue Sharks an early lead.
However, Gernot Rohr’s men were rejuvenated when Victor Osimhen took advantage of a defensive blunder to score against the hosts before half-time.
As the match headed for a draw, Cape Verdean midfielder, Kenny Santos scored an own-goal in the 76th minute to hand a narrow win to the jubilant Super Eagles.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles
The match was a memorable one for Ahmed Musa, who made his 100th appearance for the national team on Tuesday.
Uk-based Super Eagles were absent for the match due to COVID-19 regulations.
Gernot Rohr’s men will now be focused on Central African Republic (CAR), who they will be facing next month with an aim of asserting their dominance in the African football space.
