Two policemen have been killed at a checkpoint by a group of unknown armed men in Enugu state.

It was gathered that the incident occurred at Nachi, Oji River Local Government Area of the state.

The incident was confirmed by the Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, Daniel Ndukwe,nwho added that the Command had launched an operation to track down the perpetrators of the attack.

“Full scale investigation that will lead to fishing out of the assailants has commenced.

Further development will be communicated, please,” he said.

It can be recalled that Chronicle NG reported the killing of three officers in Enugu state on July 21, 2021.

According to reports, the police officers were on duty along Obeagu-Amechi in Enugu South Local Government Area and Amagunze in Nkanu East Local Government Area when they were ambushed and killed by the hoodlums.

The gunmen also burnt their patrol vehicle during the attack.
