The athletes who represented Nigeria at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics have arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Saturday.

The team which was placed 69th among 205 countries arrived at 1pm.

However, the celebration had a bitter-sweet sensation as Team Nigeria had to face difficult challenges including disqualification and injuries.

The major blow was struck when Blessing Okagbare and ten other Nigerian athletes were disqualified for not meeting the drug-test requirements.

Another misfortune that shattered Nigeria’s hopes of winning more medals was when Nigeria’s record-breaking sprint prince, Enoch Adegoke pulled a hamstring during a major event.
