    Plateau Crisis: Bandits kill 35, burn family alive

    Thirty-five persons have been killed by armed bandits in Yelwa Zangam community, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

    The bandits reportedly attacked in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

    It was gathered that the gunmen destroyed the bridge leading to the community preventing any access to help before launching their assault.

    A source from the community revealed that a family was burnt alive in their home during the attack.

    The incident was confirmed by the spokesman of the Plateau state police command, Ubah Ogaba

    ”Yes, there was an incident at Yelwa but I have not received full details yet.” He said.

    The incident comes barely 24 hours after President Muhammadu Buhari pledged support for victims of violent clashes in Plateau State.

    It can be recalled that Chronicle NG reported the arrest of arms dealer, Likita Abubakar who was transporting 320 bullets and 53 magazines to Plateau state.

    Likita was apprehended by a joint team of Police and Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) at Alushi junction in Akwanga in Nasarawa state.

    The 35-year-old man revealed that six of his colleagues were already on their way to Jos, Plateau state.
