Nigerian powerlifter, Bose Omolayo has clinched gold at the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Paralympic games.

While claiming another gold medal for Nigeria, Omolayo also set a new Paralympic record of 141kg in the 79kg female category.

In 2014, the 32-year-old competed in the women’s 61 kg event Commonwealth Games where she won a silver medal for Nigeria.

Omolayo and Tijani Latifat are now the only athletes who have won gold medals for Team Nigeria so far.

Two other Nigerian Paralympians, Olaitan Ibrahim and Lucy Ejike, clinched bronze medals in the powerlifting event as well.
