Benue state Governor, Samuel Ortom has denounced the gruesome murder of two pastors in the state.
An indigene of Ochoro Community revealed that the two pastors, Moses Ijoko and Emmanuel Aleje were Igede people of Ochoro community.
According to the source; “they were gruesomely murdered by Bonta boys on Tuesday around 10am on their way to Oju Local Government for medical attention.”
The governor urged security operatives in the state to fish out the killers as soon as possible.
Ortom, while describing the incident as unacceptable, charged the Chairman of Konshisha Local Government and other stakeholders in the area to pull their resources together to ensure that the perpetrators of the murders are brought to justice.
The Governor warned those jeopardizing the state government’s efforts to end the crisis between Konshisha and Oju, that they won’t escape justice.
He reiterated the resolve of his administration not to surrender the state to criminals and appealed to Benue people to support security agencies with timely and useful information to enable them to succeed.
Governor Ortom called on the people of the area to remain calm, assuring them that the boundary between Bonta and Ukpute will soon be demarcated as the committee set up to facilitate the demarcation has concluded arrangements for the process.
