A group of armed bandits have abducted a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Niger state, Malam Aminu Bobi.

Malam Bobi who is the Zone C chairman of APC was kidnapped in Mariga Local Government Area of the state.

The elder statesman was abducted by the bandits on his farm on Saturday.

According to a resident of the area, ” The chairman went to the farm on that faithful day, but could not return as he was abducted by the kidnappers.”

The state police command was yet to confirm the incident as at the time of filing this report.

Insecurity in Nigeria has increased at an alarming rate over the past few months. There have been several reports of random killings and kidnappings across the country. The hoodlums behind these attacks seem to have no modus operandi as they attack randomly without warning.

These unknown bandits attack both civilians and military officers which questions the security architecture of the country.

Chronicle NG reported the killing of a Major General on a highway in Abuja few weeks ago. The hoodlums also abducted his sister who was travelling with him and only released her after her family had paid about N50 million.

Several monarchs, including first class traditional rulers have been abducted while on their farms.

Although significant efforts have been made to quell the rate of insecurity in the North East, other parts of Nigeria seem to be at the mercy of the hoodlums, especially with the number of school children who are still in captivity.

Education has been held hostage in Nigeria as schools are no longer safe due to the fact that they are now soft targets for these pedophilic armed hoodlums.
